This is kind of a trick question, because of course you walk your talk.  The tricky part is, do you know what you are saying?

Everything you have in your life right now is a result of things you have thought (or said to yourself), either with or without awareness.  All of it.

Thoughts are things.  Thoughts create.  Intention is everything.  There are so many of you that say you want something in your life but you stay the same.  Day in and day out, not a change anywhere to be found.

You may say you can’t change because of the people around you.  This is not true, you just think it is true because you keep telling yourself it is true.  What if you could change your thoughts and have the things/people in your life shift and change?  You can.

Sometimes you are just too afraid of what the new life might look like.  What if I change and this job, person, place goes away?  Well, what if it does?  Do you want what you want or do you want to manipulate what is around you?

You can try and manipulate the things around you, and maybe it does work to a limited degree for a certain period of time, but in the end you just end up not getting what you want anyway.

You are getting what you think about.  In trying to manipulate something to your will you are essentially saying that you cannot have what you want (happiness? money? a good relationship?), unless this person/thing is acting or looking certain way.  So in walking your (self) talk you are creating unhappiness.

I know a lot of you get this on an intellectual level, but do you really get it?  When you post inspiring memes on social media about change and thoughts and creating the life you want, do you just post it and think “that sounds nice”, or do you post it read it and then really embody what it was you posted?  Probably not, most people don’t.

You are walking your (self) talk.  When you read these blog posts do you just get it intellectually and then say, wow, I bet that works, I’ll try it later?  If so you are telling yourself that you cannot get there from here.  You can’t start now.  It won’t work until….

Thing is, that is your talk.  That is your walk.  Always waiting for something outside of you to change.  If you really want what you say you want, you need to change yourself.  And you need to do it RIGHT NOW.  Not later, not when the timing is right, but NOW.

I think I am a fairly positive person.  How do I know if I am walking my talk and what that talk is?

The easiest way to see which talk (self talk or what you ‘say’ on Facebook), you are walking is to observe where your thoughts and actions go when you are under stress.  If all your “enlightened speak” goes out the window when someone pushes your buttons or when things don’t go your way, you are NOT walking the talk you say you are.

What is it that is holding you back?  That has you walking the talk of your subconscious beliefs or of what is limiting you instead of what will move you forward?  Pay attention to what you are saying to yourself.  Thoughts are things.  Your thoughts are energy.  Energy creates.

You need to be able to be okay even if things around you aren’t exactly how you want them to be yet.  You change what you can, you leave what you can’t.  I’ve often said in my posts that I do what I write about.  And I do.  I walk my talk.  Is my life perfect? No.  Do I have everything I want right now?  Not yet (and when I get it I am sure I find other things I want, so I will never not be striving for something more ~ least not until I’m dead).  Am I happy?  Usually.  Do I pay attention to what I am creating? Absolutely.

When something comes at you sideways in life (or a challenge), the first thing you need to say to yourself is “I created that.  Wonder why?”  Your curiosity will often give you an answer.  Listen to your intuition.

Maybe your intuition will tell you that you were vibrating (thinking about) what you don’t want and that is why you got it.  Or maybe your intuition will show you how this discomfort is promoting your growth.  As in “oh, that was uncomfortable, but look where I ended up”.

Sometimes it takes a while before we can see how a challenge actually promotes our growth.  Look back over your life at some of your challenges or hardest, saddest times, and see how all those things brought you to where you are today.

Once you can do that you will see that this challenge will also bring you to where you need to be.

That is why it is so important to realize that you are walking your talk.  You are creating.  Take responsibility for it and you will see how your creations can serve to move you forward or keep you stuck.
