The Secret of Simple Meditation


Introduction

As a psychic and medium, it has only been a few years since I, myself, have been meditating. My grandmother used to try to encourage me to mediate when I was a child but through the majority of my younger years, I did not have much interest in just sitting and being quiet and connecting in that way. I had way too much going on in my life to take the time out to just BE.

I would get all kinds of information and messages all the time anyway, I could see and hear Ascended Masters, teachers, guides and ancestors without any focus at all, what did I need to meditate for?

It wasn’t until I was in my late thirty’s that I decided to introduce meditation into my life, and truly, what a difference it made! With making a conscious effort to balance my energy and connect (almost) every day, suddenly I was getting even more information than I did before.

It improved my focus and my concentration, and even enabled me to see some health issues that were present in me that I had not been aware of before. With this new information, I started to work with my naturopath and doctor and am now on my way to better health.

My energies are now much more balanced, and I find I am actually able to get more out of my days. It is like time has expanded for me and I now have the time to do more of what is really important. Using these techniques will help you to achieve the same results.

Many of the techniques in this book were channeled during my own meditations. Originally my first book was not going to be about meditation at all. It was during my own meditations and channels that I was told I needed to share this information before writing about anything else, so that I could share with others, a way to work with and boost their own energies.

Meditation need not be difficult nor time consuming. However, initially you should spend ten to twenty minutes per day to become accustomed to your individual pattern of breathing, being aware of energies in and around you and how your chakras feel and affect different parts of your being. Once the technique is learned, meditation can be performed during your daily activities and in your own way.

I have set this book up in such a way that you can read through it once and then go back to the areas that you feel you need the most and focus there.


Chapter 1: Energy


Universal Energy

The Energy of Source, Universal Energy. Everything is connected by energy. Things are in form because of the way the energy particles bounce off one another. If the particles changed the way they move, the form would change. We are all connected to the Universal Energy, we are all a part of it. What affects one part of the energy in the Universe affects all parts of the Universal Energy. There are examples of this when people join together. Whether it is a group that gets together to pray and everyone can feel the positive energy flowing, or whether it.s a case of mass panic or a riot where people feed off of the negative (lower vibrating) energy of the whole. We all share in the energy of the whole. It can be compared to the ocean. The ocean is the ¡°whole¡±, like Universal Energy. Each drop of water is a part of that ocean, much like each person on earth is a part of the Universal Energy.

As the world goes through her shifts and changes, her people energetically feel the shifts and changes. The better your energy, the more positive, higher vibrating energy will be enjoyed by those around you and the world as the whole.


Energy and Ch’i

I think the first thing to understand is that everything is energy. Ch.i is the energy that permeates and flows through and around everything . When the Ch.i energy is balanced, life and surroundings are more comfortable. When Ch.i is out of balance or blocked, it can create discomfort and illness.

This book is meant to give you a basic understanding of your own energy and energy centres and explains how you can use meditation to work with and balance your own energy. It will not help you to change other people.s energy.

Once you do improve and balance your own energy, you will find that people around you and the things around you change. You can take more control of your life by controlling and balancing your energy. Once you understand the balancing of your energy and how it works, your perceptions of your own reality will change. This is a major event. If you look at things around you more closely, you will discover how they are changing. Just the act of looking at something changes it. Even an atom will change just by you observing it. For those of you who would like a more scientific, logical explanation of how this occurs, it is Quantum Physics, which we will not go into in this book for obvious reasons.

Once you get involved in meditating and becoming aware of your energy centres, known as Chakras, it will feel almost magical. We have the ability to create our own realities and impact things around us with our energy. We cannot make other people do or be or behave in a certain way! I cannot stress this enough. You cannot manipulate other people. To try to do so, can change our own energy in unhealthy ways. However, we do have the ability to change the way we see things and infuse loving energy into situations and relationships ourselves. This enables us to notice what is really going on in and around us and act with more love in our daily lives, rather than constantly re-acting, generally from a place of fear. Love is yet another key to happiness. As we “reap what we sow”, when we give loving energy, we then receive loving energy in return.

When I speak of giving and receiving loving energy, it is not just with our close relationships. You will notice a difference in all your interactions with everyone around you, whether it is the clerk at your local store, co-workers, bosses, or anyone you come in contact with in your daily life.

As you are more infused with loving energy, you begin to vibrate at a higher, lighter level of energy. As you vibrate at a higher, lighter level of energy, lower vibrations are no longer attracted to you.

Spring Cleaning and Soul Cleaning ~ there are similarities.

When I do my spring cleaning it takes a few days. I like to clean out closets and drawers, and cupboards. I try and start in one place and work my way around the house from there. I will empty out a closet and put all the clothes and ‘stuff’ on the floor, or the bed, or whatever furniture is there and I will vacuum out the closet and wipe things down. Sometimes as I empty out the closet I will come across things that I don’t even remember having, things I didn’t know were even there and are no longer useful to me.

As I go through this process, which sometimes takes hours, or days, or even weeks, I see what I have accumulated over the years. For however long it takes me, I may have a lot of my stuff out in the open for all to see. I can take a close look at it and see which things are no longer serving me. Clothes that don’t fit, things that are out of style, things that do not vibrate at the level I am now vibrating at. It can look pretty messy in my house for a while.

This is often how a Soul Cleaning works. With or without the help of a professional, you meditate, get into all the dark corners, pull everything out, let things come up into your consciousness. It’s all out there, you can now see what has been hiding in the back of your mind all this time. It can look messy for a while ~ once its there in front of you, you will need to do something with it. Usually the best thing to do is to let it go ~ use meditation, cut the energy cords. If it has been sitting in the back of the “closet of your mind”, chances are you really do not need it anymore. It likely is not vibrating at the level that you are now. It is coming out of the ‘closet’ so that it can be released, let go of.

Sometimes it is hard to let go of things that have been with us a long time. Both the physical things, and the emotional things. But usually there comes a time where you must let go in order to live a less cluttered life. Imagine living in a house where you never got rid of anything ~ how dense your surroundings would be, how hard it would be to move through your home. Our Souls are like that too. We pick things up throughout our lifetimes (and lifetimes past), and sooner or later we need to take a close look at what we’ve picked up and de-clutter our energy ~ or, (like within our homes), our energy bodies have a hard time moving around and through life.

With Spring Cleaning, once the letting go is complete, your house is cleaner and clearer. With Soul Cleaning, once the letting go is complete, your energy is cleaner and clearer.

When I am doing readings I can feel what chakras are out of balance on a person, or I can feel which energy cords need to be let go of, or where a client is out of balance.  I often tell my clients in my readings that I can feel what energy work they need.  Usually we don’t have the time during a reading to go over all the energy work required, or to go over what will help each person.  Its just not possible to cover all the basics in one short reading.

The Secret of Simple Meditation

Meditation for Centering, Grounding and Protecting Your Energy

This meditation is useful for a variety of reasons. If you are feeling off-centre or ungrounded, flighty or ‘spun-out’, ie., feeling overworked, unable to focus on a task, unable to complete tasks, constantly thinking of other things you could/should be doing while doing something else, this method of meditation will definitely be useful to you.

For those of you who are familiar with the “Cutting Cords” meditation, you will understand that this meditation will enhance that one. Not only are you centering and grounding yourself, you are adding a protection to keep those energy cords from coming back.

It is especially important when you are working on growing your own psychic gifts or just working to enhance your intuition, or ‘gut feelings’. When you meditate you put yourself into an altered state and are much more receptive. You need to trust what information you get in your meditations. If you practice meditation regularly, you will find that even when you are not meditating, you are still able to ‘tune in’ to this deeper you.

To begin this meditation, you first need to be comfortable. Start this meditation by sitting in a comfortable chair with your feet flat on the floor. Breathe very deeply. As you inhale, see yourself breathing in fresh, new, life-giving oxygen. Imagine the white light and life-force entering your body and giving you life, sustaining your life…

As you exhale, see yourself breathing out any negative or old energy or feelings. Imagine this to be black smoke leaving your nostrils.

Breathe like this for a few minutes, all the while becoming very aware of your body. Imagine each part of your body. Start with your feet, become aware of your legs, torso, upper body, arms and head. If you feel blocks in any of these areas, release them in the black smoke.

Once all is clear, then imagine that you have roots coming out of your feet. Have the roots go very deep into Mother Earth and wrap around a rock or something deep in the earth. Ask Mother Earth if you may ground to her and use her energy to protect yourself. Remember to thank her.

Now imagine a yellow/amber light coming up your ‘roots’. Have the light come all the way up your roots and into your body, first your feet, up your legs, through your torso, up to your neck down your arms and into your head. Feel the loving energy of this light all through you. Have it be a part of you. This light and energy helps to ground you, much like a tree has roots.

After you have brought in all that loving energy and light and you are grounded, it is time to protect yourself. First, you will need to pull in all of your scattered energies – anywhere that you have left your energy, just gently take it back into yourself. You will also need to lovingly cut the cords to anyone that may be taking energy from you. This way you ensure that when you put protection around yourself you have all of your energy inside and no one else’s.

Once your energy is clear, you can put a protection around you. This ‘protection’ is simply to make sure that you are not throwing your energy away, nor are others able to zap your energy from you.
There are several ways to do this. Do what feels most comfortable for you. You can put something like a beaker or a jar around you. Or, one of the methods I use when I’m not needing to do it quickly, is you can bring the light out from your body by about 6 inches. See the light resonating out from your body. You can then put chain mail (like on a knight’s armour), all around the light at the 6 inch point. Use whatever protection that you feel is the best for you. Remember to protect your whole body – do your back, bum, and back of your head etc.

You need to do a protection meditation like this when you are working on your energies. When you go into a meditation and are in an altered state, you want to make sure that you are protected, and that nothing but positive things come through for you, and also that you don’t end up walking around with other people’s energy attached to you. If you are going to allow for help from the other side for yourself, then state that anyone who comes through to help must come from God, or they are not welcome.

Meditations can be a great source of energy. Whether you have the time to do a prolonged 30 minute meditation two times a day, or just a brief meditation when you find the time, you will find that doing any type of meditation will help to the degree that you practice it.

Let it Go…Meditation for Cutting Energy Cords

Do you often find yourself feeling drained or lacking in energy? Is there someone that you just can’t seem to get over or stop thinking about no matter how much you try to let them go? Or how about those folks at work who just seem to drain the life out of you?

Did you know that you have invisible cords of energy going from you to other people and from them to you? Unless you use meditation to sever them, you have energy cords attached to you that you do not need. You cannot get rid of something if you are not even aware that it exists.

The cords can be from a number of different sources – from all kinds of past relationships; family, lovers, friends, co-workers.

Often these cords keep us ‘attached’ to unhealthy emotions and energy from our past, to people we thought we had let go, or they follow us home from the daily grind. Until we consciously let them go, we are unable to free ourselves and move forward to our full potential.

If you would like to release these energy cords, then practicing the following meditation will help you. You can either read it and get an idea how it works and then do it on your own, or you can tape record the following and play it back to walk yourself through the meditation. You can try doing this exercise as you lie in bed and drift off to sleep at night.

The most important thing to remember when starting a meditation is to be comfortable. Loosen tight clothes, ensure that you are sitting or lying back comfortably and that there are no outside influences to interrupt you.

Breathe very deeply. After a few breaths, imagine that you are breathing out any negativity, breathe out anything that is old and does not serve you any more. As you breathe in, imagine that you are breathing in fresh, new and clean enlightening energy, into your body.

Then work on feeling each part of your body, from your toes to your head. Imagine each part of your body working as it is meant to and being healthy and sound. Become very aware of your body and yourself, relaxing……

Now imagine all the cords of energy going from you to others and back again. Surround yourself with the universal white light, know that you are protected. Now, it is time for you to cut the cords that you no longer need. When cutting the cords, you can imagine cutting them with scissors or a knife. Alternatively, you can ask for help from the Archangel Michael. Imagine him cutting the cords with his mighty sword. Imagine all those, unnecessary cords surrounding your body, your legs, your back, your arms, being severed. If you ask for help, be sure to give him thanks for the assistance you receive.

While cutting the cords, cut them with love. Anger will not help you here. Realize that each and every one of us is just a soul on this earth, here to live and learn and do the best we can. The people that we need to let go of are here for their own reasons, and we are here for ours. In this exercise, we are simply just letting go of their energies, we are not judging them.

Work on this for as long as you feel you need to. If you have gone deep in the meditation and you are lying in bed you may even fall asleep, this is okay.

You may need to do this meditation every night for two weeks, two months or even longer……the point is to release any and all energies that you do not need. Release with love.

Often when we release someone’s energy they actually feel it. They may not know what it is they are feeling, they just feel a lack of something (your energy). Sometimes they will even call you or send an e-mail to see how you are doing. This is fine, just don’t get drawn back into the negative exchange of energy. Do not try to use this meditation in the hopes that someone will call you, it doesn’t work that way. All that will do is keep their energy attached to you. If you try to use the meditation in that way then you are not truly letting go of the energy.

Remember, let go – with love.
