Part 1 – How Much Control Do You Have Over Your Life?
This blog post is Part One of a Two Part Series.
I write and talk a lot about you having control over your own life. A lot of clients ask me “How much control do I really have? Are some things just destiny, or meant to be?”
What about the things you really want, but that you don’t get. You need to remember, there is more to you than just your ego mind. You have a soul. A higher self that has come to this earth for a reason. You came here for an experience.
What you need to do, is to connect with your soul and see what it is that you really want, what your Soul wants. Sometimes if your ego mind is not in line with your soul, it can appear as if you really aren’t getting what you want.
If you have had a reading with me you know. I can often see clearly the path you are headed down, and what the result will be if you continue on that path. Basically, I can see where you are headed right now. Another thing you may know, is that whatever path I see you on at the moment CAN be changed. All it takes is for you to be conscious; to realize that there is more to you than just what you think and that if there is something coming up you do not like, or something you are experiencing right now that you do not like, you can change it by taking action.
Before you came here, your Soul decided that a certain thing would be your life purpose. (Some people refer to this information as what is contained in the Akashic records). HOW YOU EXPERIENCE YOUR LIFE PURPOSE IS UP TO YOU. Once you get here and go through some experiences, it is up to you to decide whether or not to stay on the path you are on, or switch things up a bit.
Is it comfortable for you here? Do you feel like you are living your purpose? Which path do you chose to walk down on your way to fulfilling your purpose?
When I do a reading and see something coming up for someone and they do not like it, they can change it. Knowledge is a part of the power and control. ** Most people can tap into this themselves if they really want to, but it takes meditation, and patience and lots and lots of practice. Most have been conditioned to respond to things in a certain mindful or logical way and when they get inspired to do something completely different than what most people would call ‘normal’, they ignore it. In essence, they don’t listen to their inner guidance. So they may unconsciously, but yet from a soul level, create something that appears undesirable in everyday life in order to facilitate a change.
There have been times where I’ve looked at my own path, and consciously changed where I saw myself headed. I look, I see, I don’t like, I mediate, pray, ask for help, make changes, do energy work, ask through meditation which other way I can do it, whatever it takes to do things in a new way. I don’t think I really need to do more than just hold the intention of changing it, but doing those things helps me stay balanced and focused.
There are itmes when I look and see something I don’t like and I just prepare myself for it. There are a lot of difficult things I’ve gone though in my life but each and every one of them has made me who I am today. If not for the bad stuff, if my entire life had just been a bed of roses, I certainly wouldn’t be able to relate to people who are going through a tough time themselves. When I connect with a client who is going through a difficult time, it is easier for me to feel compassion if I’ve been there myself.
Anyway, next time you are trying to manifest or control something, take a look at what your end goal is. Does what you are doing in your day to day life right now support the end goal of what you want? What your higher self is trying to achieve? Do you need to shake things up a bit? Are you headed down a path where the only option for your higher self to get you where you need/want to be is through discomfort?
Sometimes you cannot dictate exactly what reaching your goal looks like. You don’t always get to where you want to be via the path that you initially planned with your mind, you may need to make adjustments along the way, but you truly do have control over where you end up.
** For those of you who wish to work on connecting with Spirit and learning how to “Do it Yourself”, I have recently received an online course to review called Psychic Awakening.
I will be posting a full review of the course in the next two weeks. However, after my initial perusal, I am confident that the course will be helpful to many.
What is Normal?
Simple Answer: There is no normal anymore.
Over the past couple of years ~ actually more like 10 years ~ things keep changing on me. I don’t know how many times I have thought “once things get back to normal”. Well, I came to the conclusion a while ago that there is no such thing as ‘normal’ in my life.
Whether its having people stay with me, or getting sick and not being able to work very much, or my husband breaking his leg ~ there simply is no such thing as normal. The only constant thing in my life since the year 2000, is that things keep changing. Every time I think there might be a bit of a routine, something changes. Whether its my house being ‘normally clean’, or ‘I normally do (fill in the blank)”, it doesn’t matter. There might be a lot of things I used to do on a regular basis, there’s things I would like to do according to a certain schedule ~ but it just doesn’t work like that anymore.
Every time I think there might be a bit of a routine, something happens, and I need to re-vamp my whole outlook on what I am doing and when I am doing it.
I am sharing this because there’s an awful lot of people out there going through the same thing. Waiting until…..things get back to normal. Well, here’s a newsflash, chances are that they won’t. The world is changing. The energy of the planet and all her people has changed…we cannot live in a vacuum. We need to constantly grow, and change, and adjust. Without doing so, we won’t flourish. We will stay `stuck’ in all our old behaviours and ways of thinking. That will create a ‘hell on earth’. Time to move, and to experience life on earth, as it is in the heavens.
So, if you are one of those people that is waiting until thing get back to normal, don’t bother. Deal with what you have right now, and go with the flow, and let whatever it is you are going through right this minute be your new normal. Change, growth, liberation…its all good!
Belief
We all create our own reality. Not only by what we say or do, but by what we believe.
A belief is just a thought that repeats itself over and over again. Our beliefs shape our reality more than anything else.
There have been times in my life when I have been told that I have on “rose coloured glasses” or that I am not living in reality. Well, I can tell you, for the most part, I am happy. My life is good. If my life is what I believe to be “good”, and I am happy and am able to spread love and light and abundance, what is wrong with that? If that means I’m not living in someone else’s negative view of ‘reality’ then so-be-it. I like my reality.
Would there be any point at all for me to believe that things are not as positive as I think and feel they are? That when I am challenged by something, it is a ‘bad’ experience and will ruin my life? When I have a challenge in my life, and I have had many, I chose to believe that I will get through it. I chose to believe that in some way, whether I recognize it or not at the moment, it is for my highest and best good and on some level I have created it. When I am particularly challenged, I look at ways to create something different for myself. It’s not always easy, but I know, or at least I believe, that discomfort promotes movement, and movement promotes growth. That is the way I chose to perceive my reality.
The following are some examples of ways you may talk to yourself, and in turn, shape your own reality. Which category do you find yourself going to more often, the first or the second?
1). “There’s high unemployment and there is no work out there”. If you believe this, then you will make that a reality for yourself. You will go through your days acting on that belief. You will not bother to look as hard because you believe there is no point to looking, there is no work.
2.) If you were to change the thoughts, the belief would follow. “There are jobs out there, you just have to find them”. You will go through your days acting as if the perfect job is out there for you. You will look more, you will apply more, you will find a job that resonates with you.
1). “There is no point to starting exercise unless I am prepared to do it every day” (or 3x a week or whatever you believe). You are more likely to not exercise at all because you believe there is no point and no benefit to just doing a little.
2.) “Any exercise I can get is better than doing nothing”. If that is your belief then you will get up and move a lot more. You may find you have 5-10 minutes a day, or one hour every second weekend. Once you do a little bit, if you believe it is helping, it will be helping. You will feel good about the little bit you are doing and will possibly feel like doing more, because it will feel good.
1). If you own a business. “It is hard to find good help”. You will put out an ad for staff. You will get X amount of applications. You believe that good help is hard to find, so you will hire based only on the applications sitting in front of you, whether the people fit with your company’s mission and values or not. After all, what is the point in looking any farther, ‘there’s no good help out there’.
2.) “There are many people out there that will resonate with the values of my company”. You put out an ad. You get X amount of applications. None appear to be what your company is looking for. You can either put out another ad in a different place and see who applies, or you interview people who might not have the experience who turn out to be very quick learners, are bright and share your values.
1). “There’s no point in trying, nothing ever works”. This one is pretty much a creativity killer. If you hold this belief, you are likely to never try anything new. Never let anything old go, and to feel stuck in your life.
2.) “This doesn’t feel good to me, I think I’m going to do something – anything differently”. Guaranteed, that if you change even one thing, do even one thing differently, you will see different results. If you like the results great, if you don’t, change something else.
If you want to change your life, and your reality, start by changing your beliefs. Challenge them regularly. When you find your self-talk being negative, ask yourself if it really is truth. If it really needs to be your truth.
So many of our beliefs are not even ours, but what we have been told in our lives. We are told things by our parents, our teachers, our religious leaders, our government, our media. Not everything you hear is truth. Even if it is true for some people, it is not necessarily true for everyone. It does not have to be true for you. Unless you believe it to be true and take it on as a part of your belief system.
Starting today, give yourself permission to think for yourself and create your own beliefs.
The Energies, January 2010
Have you noticed the change in the energy?
Starting in 2009 things got a little weird, energies got strong, then things started to change. In September, it seemed to come to a head, as if everything left us, or was in the process of leaving us. It was as if everything that was old, or not serving our Highest and Best Good was leaving. The changes were massive. The energy was difficult at times. Some of you lost things from your life that had been around for a very long time. There were a lot of souls that went so far as to actually leave the earth, and the human life they were living. It was time to let go of a lot of the things that brought us to where we were at that time.
Following the release of the things, people, and energies that came early last fall, was a sense of emptiness. I spoke to so many people that felt lost and confused and just didn’t know what to do. It felt stagnant for a lot of people. So many felt like there wasn’t much point anymore. The things they used to think were fun didn’t have the allure that they had before. There was a general feeling of ‘why bother?’. Some felt like they had lost their passion for life and fun. Many just seemed to take a time-out from life and living.
In mid-January 2010, the energies started to change again. There was a sense of movement. If, in the fall, you had successfully let go of everything that was no longer serving you, you suddenly felt this month that maybe there was something to this life after all. For some of you, it is new people coming in to your life. So many of us are feeling the need to connect with like-minded others at this time. Those that had been spending a lot of time alone are suddenly drawn to join groups, or make friends, get out there and do something.
Its like all the plans that were put on hold for months are now coming to fruition. There is a need, a drive, to move. Some are welcoming new relationships into their lives, some are getting new and different job opportunities coming their way. There’s a big opportunity for change and movement at this time. What would you like in your life? Go for it. Sometimes change involves risk, but there is no better time than right now to take that leap, explore your options, spread your wings and take advantage of all the new things presenting to you.
