Part 1 – How Much Control Do You Have Over Your Life?
This blog post is Part One of a Two Part Series.
I write and talk a lot about you having control over your own life. A lot of clients ask me “How much control do I really have? Are some things just destiny, or meant to be?”
What about the things you really want, but that you don’t get. You need to remember, there is more to you than just your ego mind. You have a soul. A higher self that has come to this earth for a reason. You came here for an experience.
What you need to do, is to connect with your soul and see what it is that you really want, what your Soul wants. Sometimes if your ego mind is not in line with your soul, it can appear as if you really aren’t getting what you want.
If you have had a reading with me you know. I can often see clearly the path you are headed down, and what the result will be if you continue on that path. Basically, I can see where you are headed right now. Another thing you may know, is that whatever path I see you on at the moment CAN be changed. All it takes is for you to be conscious; to realize that there is more to you than just what you think and that if there is something coming up you do not like, or something you are experiencing right now that you do not like, you can change it by taking action.
Before you came here, your Soul decided that a certain thing would be your life purpose. (Some people refer to this information as what is contained in the Akashic records). HOW YOU EXPERIENCE YOUR LIFE PURPOSE IS UP TO YOU. Once you get here and go through some experiences, it is up to you to decide whether or not to stay on the path you are on, or switch things up a bit.
Is it comfortable for you here? Do you feel like you are living your purpose? Which path do you chose to walk down on your way to fulfilling your purpose?
When I do a reading and see something coming up for someone and they do not like it, they can change it. Knowledge is a part of the power and control. ** Most people can tap into this themselves if they really want to, but it takes meditation, and patience and lots and lots of practice. Most have been conditioned to respond to things in a certain mindful or logical way and when they get inspired to do something completely different than what most people would call ‘normal’, they ignore it. In essence, they don’t listen to their inner guidance. So they may unconsciously, but yet from a soul level, create something that appears undesirable in everyday life in order to facilitate a change.
There have been times where I’ve looked at my own path, and consciously changed where I saw myself headed. I look, I see, I don’t like, I mediate, pray, ask for help, make changes, do energy work, ask through meditation which other way I can do it, whatever it takes to do things in a new way. I don’t think I really need to do more than just hold the intention of changing it, but doing those things helps me stay balanced and focused.
There are itmes when I look and see something I don’t like and I just prepare myself for it. There are a lot of difficult things I’ve gone though in my life but each and every one of them has made me who I am today. If not for the bad stuff, if my entire life had just been a bed of roses, I certainly wouldn’t be able to relate to people who are going through a tough time themselves. When I connect with a client who is going through a difficult time, it is easier for me to feel compassion if I’ve been there myself.
Anyway, next time you are trying to manifest or control something, take a look at what your end goal is. Does what you are doing in your day to day life right now support the end goal of what you want? What your higher self is trying to achieve? Do you need to shake things up a bit? Are you headed down a path where the only option for your higher self to get you where you need/want to be is through discomfort?
Sometimes you cannot dictate exactly what reaching your goal looks like. You don’t always get to where you want to be via the path that you initially planned with your mind, you may need to make adjustments along the way, but you truly do have control over where you end up.
** For those of you who wish to work on connecting with Spirit and learning how to “Do it Yourself”, I have recently received an online course to review called Psychic Awakening.
I will be posting a full review of the course in the next two weeks. However, after my initial perusal, I am confident that the course will be helpful to many.
Belief
We all create our own reality. Not only by what we say or do, but by what we believe.
A belief is just a thought that repeats itself over and over again. Our beliefs shape our reality more than anything else.
There have been times in my life when I have been told that I have on “rose coloured glasses” or that I am not living in reality. Well, I can tell you, for the most part, I am happy. My life is good. If my life is what I believe to be “good”, and I am happy and am able to spread love and light and abundance, what is wrong with that? If that means I’m not living in someone else’s negative view of ‘reality’ then so-be-it. I like my reality.
Would there be any point at all for me to believe that things are not as positive as I think and feel they are? That when I am challenged by something, it is a ‘bad’ experience and will ruin my life? When I have a challenge in my life, and I have had many, I chose to believe that I will get through it. I chose to believe that in some way, whether I recognize it or not at the moment, it is for my highest and best good and on some level I have created it. When I am particularly challenged, I look at ways to create something different for myself. It’s not always easy, but I know, or at least I believe, that discomfort promotes movement, and movement promotes growth. That is the way I chose to perceive my reality.
The following are some examples of ways you may talk to yourself, and in turn, shape your own reality. Which category do you find yourself going to more often, the first or the second?
1). “There’s high unemployment and there is no work out there”. If you believe this, then you will make that a reality for yourself. You will go through your days acting on that belief. You will not bother to look as hard because you believe there is no point to looking, there is no work.
2.) If you were to change the thoughts, the belief would follow. “There are jobs out there, you just have to find them”. You will go through your days acting as if the perfect job is out there for you. You will look more, you will apply more, you will find a job that resonates with you.
1). “There is no point to starting exercise unless I am prepared to do it every day” (or 3x a week or whatever you believe). You are more likely to not exercise at all because you believe there is no point and no benefit to just doing a little.
2.) “Any exercise I can get is better than doing nothing”. If that is your belief then you will get up and move a lot more. You may find you have 5-10 minutes a day, or one hour every second weekend. Once you do a little bit, if you believe it is helping, it will be helping. You will feel good about the little bit you are doing and will possibly feel like doing more, because it will feel good.
1). If you own a business. “It is hard to find good help”. You will put out an ad for staff. You will get X amount of applications. You believe that good help is hard to find, so you will hire based only on the applications sitting in front of you, whether the people fit with your company’s mission and values or not. After all, what is the point in looking any farther, ‘there’s no good help out there’.
2.) “There are many people out there that will resonate with the values of my company”. You put out an ad. You get X amount of applications. None appear to be what your company is looking for. You can either put out another ad in a different place and see who applies, or you interview people who might not have the experience who turn out to be very quick learners, are bright and share your values.
1). “There’s no point in trying, nothing ever works”. This one is pretty much a creativity killer. If you hold this belief, you are likely to never try anything new. Never let anything old go, and to feel stuck in your life.
2.) “This doesn’t feel good to me, I think I’m going to do something – anything differently”. Guaranteed, that if you change even one thing, do even one thing differently, you will see different results. If you like the results great, if you don’t, change something else.
If you want to change your life, and your reality, start by changing your beliefs. Challenge them regularly. When you find your self-talk being negative, ask yourself if it really is truth. If it really needs to be your truth.
So many of our beliefs are not even ours, but what we have been told in our lives. We are told things by our parents, our teachers, our religious leaders, our government, our media. Not everything you hear is truth. Even if it is true for some people, it is not necessarily true for everyone. It does not have to be true for you. Unless you believe it to be true and take it on as a part of your belief system.
Starting today, give yourself permission to think for yourself and create your own beliefs.
Moving into Your Future
I just had to write an article on moving forward. I’ve had so many people pass through my life recently, friends and clients, that are suffering financially and wondering if they are truly doing the right thing.
I myself went through this a few years ago. I was working full-time for the government, with a good paying, responsible job, working my way up the corporate ladder. I figured if I got high enough up there I would be able to make a difference.
I also just happened to be a psychic. I did psychic readings on the side for many years, and just kept trudging along like that, figuring that it would last indefinitely. I had a pension plan, regular paycheque, seniority, the ability to work anywhere in the province, and most of all I had security.
Then it hit me. What was my true calling anyway? Like many others on earth right now no matter how hard I worked or how much work I brought home, or how many people I supervised and tried to help, I simply didn’t feel like I was doing all I came here to do. It was lucrative, yet it felt empty in so many ways.
I really enjoyed the psychic readings I did. I met so many people. Helped so many people. I was able to help more with my psychic readings than I was at the Welfare Office where I worked that’s for sure. My day-job felt so empty. It got to the point where I felt badly just getting up and going to work in the morning. Where was the difference I was supposed to be making in the world?
It seems like I meet people all the time who are in the position I was just a few years ago. Some are feeling a pull to do more, some have quit the rat race and have started their own thing, yet are still struggling. Where is the relief?
Many of us were taught that in order to have things we needed to work very hard and sacrifice. If there is no sacrifice there is no reward. These days, that just simply does not make any sense. Some of us still have family that tells us “your suffering is your own fault, if you just went back to work at a real job and got a paycheque your life would be so much easier”. This isn’t true for us as a species anymore.
The world is changing very quickly. We as the humans of earth right now are ascending with Mother Earth herself. Things cannot go on the way they always have. Lightworkers and scientists alike have now realized that we are the Creators of our own reality. There is the “Law of Attraction”, and we can and do create whatever we want. What we focus on expands. We need to get our focus away from the old words of “you must sacrifice and work hard to survive”.
Now, this is not to say that we sit around on our behinds all day doing nothing. What it means, is we are allowed to live our dream. We are allowed to leave the rat race and dedicate ourselves to helping others. We do not need to suffer anymore.
There are many people who think they have realized this. They make a decision. Say that they are ready to take whatever comes, they will change their lives and they will work to change and improve their own little corner of the world. So far so good. Off they go with all their good intentions, and nothing happens right away.
Panic sets in. “Oh no, what if I have made the wrong decision”. My debt load is going up. Income is sporadic at best at first. The doubt builds and builds. Each day, we doubt, and each day things seem to go downhill a little more. From the beginning, we have been doubting whether or not we’ve made the right decision. When things don’t happen as quickly as we would like, we start to think more and more about the past. How things were when we were ‘working’. Not mentioning of course that we are still ‘working’, just at something that we are more passionate about. And remember, we were taught from a young age that if we do not work and suffer, we will never be financially successful.
Maybe we should go back to our old job – “They might take me back”, we think. Or, at least “I know I can get a job doing the same thing as I was before”. Here’s where the Universe helps us out. Things get even trickier for us, especially financially — because that is where our focus is. Then, we may even get a job offer, or see a position advertised, or hear from a friend that someone is hiring. We would be perfect for the job! It is exactly the job we left that we were so good at.
Those of us that have become accustomed to thinking that there are no coincidences may think that it would be in their best interest to take that job. After all, Spirit has put it right in front of us. Who would we be if we didn’t listen. Maybe we are meant to go back to our old line of work. We do need to eat. The thing that many of us don’t seem to realize is that WE are the Creators. By being unsure of where we are going, by constantly questioning “are we doing the right thing”, we are creating our own financial suffering. Then the Universe gives us exactly what we have been asking for, which is more doubt. We create a job that we can go back to. Yes, we created it. Spirit did not place it in front of us. We created it because it is what makes us feel safer.
Now here’s the hard part. Can you turn it down? Do you want to live in your past? Repeat your past? Do what you have always done? Sell out? Go back to where you swore you never would? These comments are not meant to make you feel bad. They are the comments that we all have running through our heads when we are in this situation.
This is your chance. Your chance to make your decision, once and for all. Do you want to move forward or do you want to go back to where you were before. Its important that you know you cannot fail. No matter what your decision — you will NOT fail on your path in this lifetime. You can slow yourself down, experience different things, but you CANNOT FAIL.
I cannot make decisions for you, however, I can give you my insight into these situations. You need to make a decision, trust your decision, and stick with it. No doubt, no fear. You are supported. We all have helpers on the other side, they will never abandon you. You simply need to TRUST. Trust that you have made your decision. That the decision is correct, and that you will not go backwards. See where it is you want to be. Financially, spiritually, physically. See it and trust you will get there. Don’t worry about how you are going to get there. KNOW you will get there. You are supported.
As soon as you let go of the idea that you may need to go backwards, or that maybe you won’t be successful, you will see abundance like you have never imagined.
